The Dreamer Text Audio /98
Name
I... return.
Chayula_DreamersRebirth_A3
Let the enemy tremble with fear!
Chayula_DreamersRebirth_Cone
You... have done well. But your task is not yet over. Using this flesh of the Depraved... we can now locate the enemy's bastion. Enter... their Twisted Domain.
Enter The Twisted Domain
Depose their hivemind. Kill... Xesht.
Chayula_AfterRebornSequence_Bone
You see me for the first time, with your own eyes. Yet in your dreams... you closed yourself from me.
Monk Reveal
Now... is the ultimate test of your loyalty. Show me your adoration of life.
Chayula_MonkTruthRevealed_A2
Behold, the truth.
Chayula_MonkTruthRevealed_A3
A pity.
Chayula_MonkTruthRevealed_C2
Rise, my son.
Chayula_MonkTruthRevealed_Done
Rise, Archon... wage war against the enemy.
Chayula_ArchonRises_Done
Return to me.
Chayula_XeshtsDefeat_Aone
The chosen one... has succeeded.
Chayula_XeshtsDefeat_Bone
My archon... has succeeded.
Chayula_XeshtsDefeat_Bone=Archon
My son... has succeeded.
Chayula_XeshtsDefeat_Bone_DexInt4b
Let it be known... The Depraved Lords are no longer!
Chayula_XeshtsDefeatCrowd_Done
They may try to rebirth... they may try to meld once more...
Chayula_XeshtsDefeatCrowd_D2
But {never} will they know the light of this world!
Chayula_XeshtsDefeatCrowd_D3
I... will see to it!
Chayula_XeshtsDefeatCrowd_D4
The Cruel Lord loved fire, and he commanded his people to fuel the flames.
Chayula_Speaker_XophTeaching_One
They stripped the forests bare. He demanded more. They tore down their own homes. Still, he demanded {more}.
Chayula_Speaker_XophTeaching_Two
They brought their own crops, feeding it to the Pyre instead of their children. Even then, the Cruel Lord demanded... {more}.
Chayula_Speaker_XophTeaching_Three
All they had left to give was their bodies, screaming and singing, and the flesh, and the blood burned crimson.
Chayula_Speaker_XophTeaching_Four
The Red Pyre was born.
Chayula_Speaker_XophTeaching_Five
The Callous Lord loved to study and learn.
Chayula_Speaker_EshTeaching_One
Her people were relieved, for here was a vice soft and kind... but she commanded her people to bring her knowledge.
Chayula_Speaker_EshTeaching_Two
Every book, every story, but she wanted more. They tore apart the world to feed her hunger.
Chayula_Speaker_EshTeaching_Three
They broke every stone into the smallest pebble, simply to know what was inside. Still, she demanded more.
Chayula_Speaker_EshTeaching_Four
All they had left to give was their minds, and their memories spilled grey upon crystal and metal.
Chayula_Speaker_EshTeaching_Five
The Forked Thought was born.
Chayula_Speaker_EshTeaching_Six
The Caring Lord loved to protect her people.
Chayula_Speaker_TulTeaching_One
They rejoiced, thinking themselves free from the plight of the others... but she commanded them to move carefully. Avoid danger.
Chayula_Speaker_TulTeaching_Two
No scythes to harvest the crops... no knives to cut food. No leaving home to get water. She provided all, bringing them into her keep...
Chayula_Speaker_TulTeaching_Three
But even the slow aging of flesh obsessed her. To satiate her, they reposed in absolute safety and stillness, giving up their very wills.
Chayula_Speaker_TulTeaching_Four
The Preserved Patterns were born.
Chayula_Speaker_TulTeaching_Five
The Crushing Lord loved to grow and cultivate.
Chayula_Speaker_UulNetolTeaching_One
She fed them well, and her people became a multitude, but they did not spread.
Chayula_Speaker_UulNetolTeaching_Two
She commanded them to stay. She drew them in, calling them her children, and pressed them to her mountainous body.
Chayula_Speaker_UulNetolTeaching_Three
They could not breathe, could not scream, as she brought more and more of them closer and closer.
Chayula_Speaker_UulNetolTeaching_Four
To calm her wails, they let themselves be crushed, bones snapping, souls suffocating.
Chayula_Speaker_UulNetolTeaching_Five
The Flesh Mother was born.
Chayula_Speaker_UulNetolTeaching_Six
The Dread Marshal loved to feast and copulate.
Chayula_Speaker_VruunTeaching_One
He reported to no single Lord, obeying the many, worshipping the whole. He saw the horizon before him. A destiny he embraced.
Chayula_Speaker_VruunTeaching_Two
He despised those wanting. Hatred's seed grew within him, a seed that he spread across the vastness of the Lords domains.
Chayula_Speaker_VruunTeaching_Three
His progeny rose from mire, filth and depravity, becoming a staple brood for the Lords.

The Dreamer

The Dreamer on Archon of Chayula /3
The Dreamer: Before you leave, Acolyte – a simple question...Do you accept the path before you? Do you embrace all that I have given you?
Monk: Of course, master.
The Dreamer: And so, my will radiates within you.
The Dreamer on The Final Move /11
Warrior: Tell me, Dreamer, with Xesht dead... what is the final step in your plan?
Witch: Xesht is dead, but let me guess... there's still more to be done.
Sorceress: Xesht is dead... but the Hiveborn remain. How will you ensure they do not rise again?
Ranger: With Xesht dead and gone, what comes next?
Huntress: I'm guessin' you have a plan for dealin' with the rest o' the Hiveborn.
Mercenary: Xesht is dead. So that's it, right? Job's done?
Monk: The Depraved Lords are dead. Advise us of your will, master.
Druid: The abomination is now but a memory. What say ye of yer next move?
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Your instincts are correct.
The Dreamer: No. Not as long as their horde remains.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: The Hiveborn thrive under a singular commanding mind... I will come to them in their hour of desperation, while they are confused and battered. Then I shall {will} them... to satiate their hunger... once and for all.
Warrior: You would turn them against one another?
Witch: You'll force the Hiveborn to tear each other limb from limb? Gosh! Is it hot in here?
Sorceress: You will command them to... {consume} one another?
Ranger: They would eat each other?
Huntress: 'Once and for all'... Wait. You don't mean they'll {eat} eachother.
Mercenary: Satiate their hunger... with what?
Monk: I understand. You would turn the enemy on themselves. Yet for them... it would be pure ecstasy.
Druid: You'd come to them as a new master... and command them to eat one another?
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: One another.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
Mercenary: {Oh}. Blimey.
Shadow: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Yes. And they will rejoice in their fervour of belonging again.
The Dreamer: A final feast. A final supper under their broken sun.
Warrior: Though they bear no semblance of sanity... that is a fearsome fate.
Witch: A pity I won't be there to see it.
Sorceress: A cruel, brutal punishment, but... dare I say, not undeserved.
Ranger: That's nature for you. Eat or be eaten.
Huntress: Awful grim. But serves 'em right, I s'pose.
Mercenary: Ooh, that's proper dark. Cruel even. But who am I to judge, eh?
Monk: Praise the Dreamer.
Druid: A monstrous act. Though admittedly... they deserve no less.
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Yet they will enjoy every moment of it.
The Dreamer: It would be gruesome to behold.
The Dreamer: And not without reason.
The Dreamer: There was no pleasant ending on their horizon. It is the only way.
Keeper Congregation: Praise the Dreamer.
The Dreamer: Take heart in the end of their suffering.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
Witch: Oh, stop! Give a girl a break. You're making me jealous.
Shadow: [DNT]
The Dreamer on How Can We Save The World? /6
Monk: If they never give up, is our world doomed?
The Dreamer: There is hope. A hope that bloomed here in the Monastery and still continues to grow. If we wage war upon the enemy, in their own domain... we can change the outcome. With the enemy weakened, I will erase them. I shall destroy them utterly.
Monk: And what of the Keepers then?
The Dreamer: They remain to protect the world from itself. From those who hunger. Those who rage. There will come a time when life is protected. When quiet prevails.
Monk: I dream of that day. I can almost see it in my mind's eye.
The Dreamer: I have long dreamed of it. You needn't wait much longer, my child.
The Dreamer on Ailith's Message /4
Monk: Master... Ailith spoke your true name. She knows what you have planned for this world. It causes her great... distress.
The Dreamer: Ailith is where my Dream began. But she is not where it ends. She has strayed from the path. I felt it. Her thoughts often evade me. Observe her, for now. If she cannot be perfected... her line must end.
The Dreamer: I, however, have great aspirations for you. For you, Archon... are perfection.
The Dreamer: I, however, have great aspirations for you. For you... are perfection.
Monk: As you wish, master.
The Dreamer on Introduction /5
The Dreamer: I greet you... incumbent warrior.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: I greet you... dark one.
The Dreamer: I greet you... brazen child.
The Dreamer: I greet you... recluse.
The Dreamer: I greet you... hunter.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: I greet you... wanderer.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: I greet you... lost one.
Warrior: Greetings, Dreamer. We have gone to great effort to see you reborn. Ailith speaks highly of you.
Marauder: [DNT]
Witch: That was... fascinating. I'm no stranger to waking the dead, but... well, were you even dead to begin with?
Sorceress: Greetings, Dreamer. I have seen much in my travels... but never have I encountered a being such as you. I confess, I am fascinated.
Ranger: Recluse? What is it you think you know about me... and how?
Huntress: Likewise, Dreamer. Hope you enjoyed your little kip. Now you can help us see this war through.
Duelist: [DNT]
Mercenary: So you're the famous Dreamer. I'd offer to shake your hand, but you look a bit, uh... {sticky.}
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Druid: The Dreamer, I take it? Lost I may have been... but I found yer war. And here you've been sleepin', while we fight it for ye.
The Dreamer: She has been a loyal Keeper. And both your efforts will bear fruit, in due course.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Dead to the world, perhaps. Not so to the Keepers. Merely in a kind of... slumber.
The Dreamer: Your intellectual curiosity speaks well of you. There are some who would recoil.
The Dreamer: My sight is not limited to this corporeal form.
The Dreamer: And so I shall.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Turn your hand instead toward defeating the Hiveborn.
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
The Dreamer: You will come to see the reason for the way things must be.
Witch: Thus the 'Dreamer' title. So, what now then?
Sorceress: Not I.
Duelist: [DNT]
Mercenary: That I can do.
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Now... pose your question.
The Dreamer on The Melding /2
Monk: Forgive me, but my curiosity of the melding gets the better of me. Why would you take part in such a thing with the vile Lords?
The Dreamer: It is a meritable question. The melding is why I have languished here for so long. Healing. Recovering. The vile Lords sought our union above all else. A binding. Our flesh... to coalesce. I was foolish. I believed... I could find reason within them. But I saw only darkness and I escaped before they could subsume me. They became pure hatred. They became... Xesht.
The Dreamer on The Melding /2
Warrior: I would know more about this... 'melding' you spoke of.
Witch: I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued by this melding you spoke of.
Sorceress: This melding of which you speak... tell me more.
Ranger: You made reference to a 'melding'. What is it?
Huntress: Before, you mentioned that your melding failed... how? What is it?
Mercenary: This 'melding' thing... sounds kinda freaky.
Druid: You'll have to explain this 'melding' to me. As with the rest o' ye, it sounds... {unnatural.}
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: It is why I have languished here for so many years. Healing. Recovering. The vile Lords sought our union. A binding. Our flesh... to coalesce into a singular being. But what mind would govern such a creature? I saw the darkness in their hearts. I escaped before they could subsume me. But they... they became pure hatred. Xesht.
The Dreamer on What Do You Want In Return? /6
Warrior: Everything has a price. You would still see our world changed in some way.
Witch: Why do you care what happens to this world? It isn't even yours.
Sorceress: Forgive me, but you do not seem the altruistic type. What do you gain from this?
Ranger: I don't believe for a second you want to save this world. Not unless it benefits you in some way.
Huntress: This isn't your world. Why do you want to save it?
Mercenary: Look, cards on the table - you don't seem like someone who wants to {save} the world.
Druid: Grave danger or not - why should you care?
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Must everything have a cost?
The Dreamer: I see your world for what it is and what it could be. For it's... potential. It is worth saving.
Warrior: You are not telling me everything.
Witch: I guess...
Sorceress: On that, we can agree, but... I suspect you're not telling me everything.
Ranger: How magnanimous of you.
Huntress: Aye. True enough.
Mercenary: Not to put a damper on our new friendship... but I keep waitin' for the catch.
Druid: I wasn't born yesterday, lad. You, on the other hand... Suffice it to say there's always an agenda.
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Perhaps. But know this...
The Dreamer: There is no value in the endless pursuit of abundance. It only brings death. I dream of a world that holds life precious above all. So ask yourself... what ill could come of such a dream? The vile lords will bring nothing but death to your world. I offer only lasting peace.
The Dreamer on Who Are You? /3
The Dreamer: The Keepers know me as the Benevolent Dreamer. The enemy knows me as the One Who Dreamt. You... may call me ally.
Warrior: An ally born out of a sac before my very eyes. That's... a new one.
Witch: What exactly can you offer me?
Sorceress: And I shall. Though I usually attain my allies through more... {conventional} means.
Ranger: You expect me to trust you?
Huntress: I've had my share of unlikely allies... What's one more?
Mercenary: Well, lucky me.
Druid: I'd sooner call ye a violation of nature.
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: What is important is that you and I share a desire to thrive. To {preserve} life. To cherish it. The enemy would see it destroyed.
The Dreamer on Who Is The Enemy? /5
The Dreamer: Xoph, Esh, Tul and Uul-Netol.... Our melding failed. I was torn asunder. Cast into the void between worlds. But they... became Xesht. Vile Lords. Once my brethren, now a monstrous fiend.
Warrior: So you... are one of them?
Witch: They sound like good fun.
Sorceress: Then you are not one of them?
Ranger: So are you one of them, or not?
Huntress: Your brethren? Oh. So you're like family?
Mercenary: That'd make you the black sheep of the family, then?
Druid: Then you were allies, once?
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: That is one perspective.
The Dreamer: Yes, and no.
The Dreamer: I see the beauty of existence, but they see nothing beyond their rage and hunger. Limited minds seeking only the unity of flesh. And so, this world is in grave danger. I cannot let them consume it, as they have their own.
The Dreamer on Xesht /5
Warrior: In destroying this Xesht... will the Hiveborn relent?
Witch: Say I kill this Xesht - will that stop the Hiveborn?
Sorceress: Were we to kill Xesht, what would happen to their brood?
Ranger: If Xesht dies, what happens to the Hiveborn?
Huntress: Alright, let's say we defeat Xesht... then what? What happens to the Hiveborn?
Mercenary: So if we kill this Xesht fella — or is it fellas? — that will stop the Hiveborn?
Druid: So, if we slay Xesht, will that rid us o' the Hiveborn?
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: No. Kill Xesht, and in time they shall make another.
The Dreamer: They are of one mind. One army. One force of will. We must destroy them in their domain. Driving them back. Shattering their will. Then... I will seek to do what must be done.
Warrior: And if we do not act?
Witch: 'What must be done.' So what happens if we just... don't?
Sorceress: And if they prevail? What then?
Ranger: Say that – hypothetically – the Hiveborn prove too much for us... What then?
Huntress: What's the alternative?
Mercenary: And if we don't?
Druid: And if Xesht proves a stubborn weed?
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Your world will end.
The Dreamer on Xesht /4
Monk: In killing Xesht, will that be enough to defeat the enemy?
The Dreamer: They are of one mind. One army. One force of will. We must destroy them in their domain. Shatter their very will. Then... I will seek to do what must be done.
Monk: And if we do not succeed?
The Dreamer: This world will end.
The Dreamer on What Is Your Will? /3
The Dreamer: I seek the opposite of the Depraved Lords. I seek to preserve life itself. To cherish it, above all else.
Monk: A noble goal. But how can we achieve it? Through what means?
The Dreamer: The depraved must die. The enemy will never relent. Therefore, they must be forced to do so. Or else they will never stop pursuing me, or this world.
The Dreamer on The Tireless Horde /4
Monk: What drives them toward you so tirelessly? Toward us all?
The Dreamer: Xoph, Esh, Tul and Uul-Netol.... Our melding failed and I was torn asunder. Cast into the void between worlds. But they... became Xesht. They will not rest until they subsume me.
Monk: But you are nothing like them. Why can't they see that?
The Dreamer: Once they may have... but now they see nothing. Blind in their hunger. It matters not. All that does, is that they... still... come.
The Dreamer on Proclamation /4
The Dreamer: The enemy falters. Directionless. Mindless. For now, you have saved this world.
Warrior: I couldn't have done so without Ailith.
Witch: Aren't you lucky I came along when I did?
Sorceress: May this be a firm lesson to anyone who would invade our world.
Ranger: Never thought we'd end up here back when we first met.
Huntress: Give Ailith her flowers. She did her part too.
Mercenary: I could get used to this 'chosen one' stuff. Don't suppose it comes with a pay rise, does it?
Monk: I am glad to have served you, master. I await your next instruction.
Druid: I am damn well joyous of it. Wading through endless muck, blood and filth... for a war I should have no part in!
Duelist: [DNT]
Shadow: [DNT]
Templar: [DNT]
Marauder: [DNT]
The Dreamer: Indeed. My daughter, you are one of a kind.
Ailith: The Keepers will not forget what you've done, I assure you.
The Dreamer: Your scepticism was understandable... but unfounded. As this victory has proven.
The Dreamer: Indeed she did. My daughter, you served admirably, as always.
The Dreamer: The defeat of Xesht is its own reward.
The Dreamer: Relish in your victory. The work yet to be done shall be revealed in due course.
Ailith: And yet, your part was the greatest of all.
Ailith: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
Ailith: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
Ailith: It was my honour to serve.
Witch: As well they shouldn't.
Ailith: You honour me, Dreamer.
Mercenary: Ah. Was afraid you'd say that.
Ailith: A moment's respite. You have earned it.
The Dreamer: Yes. The pulse of life shall remember your actions.
Ailith: [DNT]
The Dreamer: [DNT]
