The Third Edict

Information

Act 4

The Beast is growing and the world is truly at stake. After finding Doryani in Act Three, you learn you must travel to a Karui archipelago called Ngamakanui to search for pieces of a great weapon, the instrument of the Third Edict. This weapon is the only hope against the Beast.

Journey to Kingsmach, hire a ship, and set sail!

Explore the Islands of Ngamakanui

Discover the Ngamakanui archipelago, home to the Karui tribes. From the pristine beaches of Whakapanu Island to the volcanic shores of the Isle of Kin, there are eight islands to explore, each with its own dangers and of course, bosses!

Act Four is completely non-linear and you can visit the islands in any order you choose.

Three New Mini Acts

In the Third Edict you no longer need to play through the game twice in order to get to the endgame. We are introducing three new temporary Interludes acts, a set of side stories featuring 19 new areas and 12 new bosses that will take you to level 65, where the endgame begins.

  • The Curse of Holten: Journey back to Ogham to help Renly rebuild the village and defeat the corruption that stands in his way.
  • The Stolen Barya: Return to the Vastiri Desert and aid Asala in fulfilling her sacred duty.
  • Doryani's Contingency: Climb a great mountain in search of the lost Vaal descendants. Find the hidden vault and uncover the secrets within.

New Support Gem System

Support gems have been completely reworked. You can now use as many copies of the same Support Gem on your character as you like, and each support gem now has multiple tiers, allowing you to upgrade them as you progress through the game.

Major Balance Changes and New Skills

Major improvements have been made to every character class including the addition of new skills, 150 new clusters on the passive tree Passive Trees, huge buffs to existing skills, and more.

Crafting Updates

Crafting has received major upgrades in The Third Edict.

High Tier Currency Items

There are now higher tier versions of all basic crafting currency including Transmutation, Augmentation, Regals, Exalts, and Chaos Orbs.

Greater and Perfect currency items add mods with a guaranteed minimum level, ensuring better results for your crafts.

New Exceptional items with extra sockets or higher than max quality (maximum 30%) are also available from the highest level areas.

Changes to Essences

Essences now upgrade magic items to rare, adding a specific mod. Not only are they more powerful, but you'll know exactly what you're going to get. We're also adding more tiers of Essences. Perfect essences replace a random mod on your item with a specific new mod.

New Omens

To further enhance your crafting arsenal, we've added a whole suite of new Omens to Ritual content and removed the less useful ones.

Hinekora's Lock

In the Third Edict you will be able to find a new Currency Item, Hinekora's Lock. Hinekora, the Karui Goddess of Death possesses the power of foresight and can see many futures, including the outcome of your next craft. Imbuing her Lock onto an item grants you that same power!

Ancient Bones

Ancient bones that can be used to imbue your items with Desecrated modifier.

New Endgame Encounters

New encounters have appeared on the atlas. You might encounter a wild Sandstorm, fueled by powerful magic; discover a massive Maelstrom, obscuring a connection to a map; or find a hidden Vaal Vault, leading to the Vaal Elite and the valuable rewards they guard.

These new encounters each contain uber versions of the Act Four boss and the bosses at the end of each part of the Interlude. Each also has its own exclusive drop pool of new Lineage Support Gems.

Introducing Asynchronous Trade

In the Third Edict, we're introducing a long-anticipated feature: Asynchronous Trade. This new system allows you to buy items from other players without requiring the seller to be present.
