Ranger and Dexterity Classes: New Skills, Reworks, and Reinforced Defenses

A series of major improvements to the Ranger and more broadly to dexterity-based classes. Between new skills, reworks of old spells and new defensive mechanisms, these changes aim to make these archetypes more fluid, more powerful and above all more resistant in the endgame.

The cold at the heart of the Rodeuse's arsenal

One of the goals was to make the ice element more viable for the Ranger:

Escape Shot : Extended in range, it now leaves behind ice fragments that explode after a short delay.

Frozen Spite : Multiplies fragments when eliminating frozen enemies.

Ice-Tipped Arrows : A new buff that causes all arrows to generate ice fragments.

Freezing Salvo : Fires additional ice projectiles towards each fragment, transforming the battlefield into a veritable freezing blast.

Snipe : Consumes the frozen state of enemies to inflict massive damage, with an even greater bonus against bosses (since they are much harder to freeze).

Skills made more fluid

Many existing spells deemed cumbersome or impractical have been revised:

Toxic Growth : Becomes a rain of poison spores instead of a jump, making the spell much more spammable.

Toxic Domain : New poison skill that creates a zone around the player, forcing all of their attacks to generate toxic pustules directly attached to enemies.

Electrocuting Arrow : Now a regular arrow, able to take advantage of projectile mounts. It also gains an area of effect , making it effective in single-target and multi-target situations and more effective in the endgame.

Mirage Archer : New Spirit Reservation skill, allowing you to summon spectral clones that use the skill of your choice.

Defenses: A Revolution for Escape

One of the historical weaknesses of dexterity classes was their survivability , with evasion being the weakest defense in the game. To correct this, a new mechanic is introduced: Deflect .

Deflect: Deflection Rating provides a chance to Deflect damage from Hits, preventing 40% of the damage from those Hits and Ailments they inflict. Exact chance to Deflect also depends on the attacker's Accuracy.

  • Works against all types of moves , including area attacks or classic unblockable strikes (excluding rare boss skills indicated by a red flash).
  • Reduces damage by 40% on a successful hit .
  • Can be increased by items and through the passive tree.
  • Has no maximum limit: it is therefore possible to reach 100% chance of deflecting by investing enough. This mechanic benefits all dexterity classes, but particularly the Ranger , Mercenary , and Monk .
Huntress Block and Parry: Increased reliability

Another expected change: everything is now blockable and parryable , with the exception of attacks specifically marked as unblockable by bosses. This makes the mechanic much more reliable, especially for the huntress whose parry was considered unsatisfactory at launch.

In addition, movement speed has been increased when using these mechanics, making their use more dynamic and enjoyable.
