Interlude: The Stolen Barya
The second Interlude takes the adventure to the Vasteri Desert. Sekhema Asala, invested with a sacred role, must perform the “Gift of Water” ritual when the stars align. But the Selkari, guardians of the sacred water, have disappeared. Players must find them, understand who disrupted the ritual, and face new adversaries. Between exploring desert areas, fighting new bosses, and discovering ancient secrets, this Interlude offers a journey steeped in mysticism.
Return to the Vastiri Desert, aid Sekhema Asala with her sacred duty, and meet with the Sel Khari Sanctuary , guardians of the Sacred Water.
Interlude 2: The Stolen Barya is a temporary side story that is included until the release of Act 5. The second interlude has 6 new areas and 4 new bosses.
The Khari Bazaar 
- NPCs: The Hooded One; Sekhema Asala; Zarka; Risu
The Khari Bazaar is the main town in Interlude 2 and has 4 NPCs by default:
Speak to The Hooded One and Sekhema Asala to learn more about her sacred mission. Then take any exit to The Khari Crossing.
The Khari Crossing
- Bosses: Akthi, the Final Sting and Anundr, the Sandworm
- Quests: Recruit the Maraketh, Clearing the Way (Optional: 2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points)
- Points of Interest: Molten Shrine, Travelling Merchant
The Khari Crossing is a barren, dry, but most notably: a gigantic desert; which is an understatement.
Begin by heading north, in search of the Molten Shrine Secret. Enter the Skullmaw Stairway, clear the enemies inside and consume the Molten One's Gift for +5% to Maximum Life.
Afterwards, search for a checkpointed boss arena, to battle Akthi, the Final Sting and Anundr, the Sandworm.
- Akthi, the Final Sting is a physical and chaos themed boss, akin to The Devourer from Act 1.
- Anundr, the Sandworm is a physical and chaos themed boss, akin to the Great White One from Act 4, but more specifically the Scorpion in Act 9 of Path of Exile 1.
Defeat Akthi, the Final Sting and Anundr, the Sandworm, then return to town and speak to Risu for 2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points.
Next collect the waypoints from the two connected zones: the Pools of Khatal and The Galai Gates; to avoid potentially reexploring The Khari Crossing later.
Pools of Khatal 
- Quests: Recruit the Maraketh
The Pools of Khatal is a ruined barren landscape with no immediate quest objectives or points of interest. Progress ahead to the Sel Khari Sanctuary .
Sel Khari Sanctuary 
- Bosses: Elzarah, the Cobra Lord
- Quests: Recruit the Maraketh
- Points of Interest: Two Wishes
The Sel Khari Sanctuary has been overtaken by the Serpent Clan! Search the area for the leader of the Serpent Clan: Elzarah, the Cobra Lord, a physical, fire and chaos themed boss.
After defeating Elzarah, the Cobra Lord, speak to Sekhema Asala and progress to The Galai Gates.
Optionally, while clearing this zone you may find Yoon's Barya and Rangeen's Barya. These Barya can be placed into opposing altars allowing you to wish for 2 out of the following 3 rewards: Rare Ring, Rare Amulet, Rare Jewel.
The Galai Gates 
- Bosses: Vornas, the Fell Flame
- Quests: Recruit the Maraketh
The Galai Gates are the gateway to the fifth river, a distant memory at this point. Explore the area for the entrance to Qimah, guarded by Vornas, the Fell Flame, a physical and lightning themed boss.
Defeat Vornas, the Fell Flame and enter Qimah.
Qimah 
- Quests: Recruit the Maraketh
- Points of Interest: Orbala's Pillar
Qimah was once a home to the populace of Maraketh, but is now home to the growing corruption. Explore Qimah for the ceremony site, speak to Jado and enter the Qimah Reservoir.
Additionally, search the zone for Orbala's Pillar and select a changeable permanent buff:
- Halani's Boon: 12% increased Cooldown Recovery Rate
- Galai's Boon: 20% increased Presence Area of Effect
- Akheli's Boon: 15% increased Global Defences
- Orbala's Boon: 3% increased Movement Speed
- Kochai's Boon: +5 to all Attributes
- Tabana's Boon: 5% to Elemental Resistances
- Alima's Disgrace: 5% increased Experience Gain and the negative inversion of the 6 other boons
If you would like to change your buff you can always return to the Pillar and select a different option.
Qimah Reservoir 
- Bosses: Azmadi, the Faridun Prince
- Quests: Recruit the Maraketh
- Points of Interest: Sacred Wells
Qimah Reservoir is the final zone in the second interlude. Search for and defeat Azmadi, the Faridun Prince and disrupt his ritual.
Azmadi, the Faridun Prince is a physical themed boss with many comboed abilities. There are two main strategies to defeat him: the first being to burst him down with a glass cannon build. However, if you cannot do so, you need to persistently dodge roll until you find a damage window. Patience is key as his combos can have extensive duration.
Defeating Azmadi, the Faridun Prince for many players is challenging; consider farming levels and gear if you face difficulty.
Optionally, while exploring the Qimah Reservoir you may find two Sacred Wells. Each well can be filled with a Vial of Sacred Water, found from slaying monsters in the area, for a guaranteed Exalted Orb and
Orb of Alchemy.
After defeating Azmadi, the Faridun Prince, interact with the Grand Barya, speak to Jado and Sekhema Asala, return to town, and speak to The Hooded One to travel to the final interlude.
