For attacks that can use both a mace and a Quarterstaff, Facebreaker's flat damage overrides Hollow Palm Technique's. The % more damage on Facebreaker and the attack speed/crit chance from Hollow Palm Technique will all apply though.
By the way, Shockwave Totem is not the only case of this, as there are some triggered attacks that can use both. The "or unarmed" part doesn't matter, those skills will still preferentially use Facebreaker/Hollow Palm Technique flat damage over normal unarmed damage if the attack can use a Mace/Quarterstaff.
You can use Facebreaker and Hollow Palm Technique together
- Facebreaker grants base damage to skills that would otherwise use a mace
- Hollow Palm Technique grants base damage to skills that would otherwise use a Quarterstaff
- for skills that could use either weapon type, only Facebreaker's damage applies
other benefits of both apply as normal
The attack speed and crit chance on hollow palm are very specifically only for skills that can be used with quarterstaves
