DexInt4b_Gameplay_A2_19 CharacterTextAudio | Let us see what the Faridun have in store for me. |
DexInt4b_Gameplay_A2_51 CharacterTextAudio | The Faridun have closed this gate as well! The Ardura will know what to do. |
Dex4b_Gameplay_A2_12 CharacterTextAudio | The seed... It's corruption is here. These Faridun have been infected. We must move quickly. |
StrDex4b_Gameplay_A2_12 CharacterTextAudio | Asala, these people have been infected by a seed carried by the Faridun. We need to move fast. |

AdiyahGossipAboutNenet NPCTextAudio | Nenet is from a people that currently call themselves the Faridun. They are our rejects. Those we Maraketh left to die in the desert as children for being unworthy or flawed. I do not think ill of Nenet. I do not think of her at all. I am not cruel, exile. It is simply that scattered groups of pariahs wandering in the desert have no effect on the world. She will not find the home she yearns for among these scoundrels. |
ExitBanterAdiyahToNenet NPCTextAudio | Why do you hide your face, Faridun? |
NenetContractOneStart NPCTextAudio | I am honoured, Exile, that one of your strength would even speak to me, let alone help me. I am an outcast, and it is that very status which drives me for this mission. I have traveled far, and for many years, to find the resources and allies to do what I intend. Here I am in this place, before you now, ready. Where I am from, the Plains of Vastiri, the Maraketh hold no pity for the weak or the supposedly useless. The other outcasts found me and raised me, and though our lives are harsh, we have a meager culture of our own. We call ourselves the Faridun. The Maraketh believe we are worthless and flawed, but I am convinced I can prove that is not true. There is a legend among my people of a bold warrior who tried to unite the scattered Faridun camps thousands of years ago. His name was Jamanra, and he wished only to unify us so that we might come into our own as a people. If I can prove that he existed by finding the Book of Jamanra, then I may be able to initiate a ritual challenge with the Maraketh to test Faridun warriors for worthiness. If we pass, they will have to accept us back into the lives we should have had! Will you help me win back my home, Exile? |
NenetContractOneEnd NPCTextAudio | Jamanra did exist, Exile... and they killed him. The Sekhemas agreed to meet with him to discuss recognizing the Faridun nation, but it was a trick. They poisoned him. The supposedly honourable high-and-mighty Maraketh poisoned our greatest leader. I suppose I should have expected nothing less from this brutal world we live in, Exile. You and I know best that hope is an illusion, and that raw force is the only way to take anything for oneself. In any case, I thank you for aiding me. |
NenetContractTwoStart NPCTextAudio | I have come to a decision, Exile. I do not believe the Maraketh will ever willingly give us a home, or let us make our own. The Book you helped me retrieve tells Jamanra's tale, but it goes a bit further than that. It also tells of his final resting place. You can already guess what I intend, yes? In this land of madness where the dead rise and legendary figures return, I have a reasonable suspicion Jamanra can be found and released from his tomb. If the Maraketh will not listen to our peaceful pleas, then perhaps we Faridun will carve a home for ourselves on the Plains of Vastiri with the sharp edge of a sword. Jamanra can finish what he began thousands of years ago, and if he is empowered by Corruption this time around, then no cowardly poison will be able to stop him. Help me find Jamanra in his tomb and convince him to lead our cause, Exile! |
SelectionBanterNilesToNenet NPCTextAudio | Ah, the Faridun. |
SelectionBanterNilesToNenetTwo NPCTextAudio | Out of curiosity, pariah, do the Faridun worship any gods? |
EntryBanterNenetNilesReply NPCTextAudio | In your mythology, what happens to the Faridun after death? |
MarakethMatriarchArea_g2_4_1 NPCTextAudio | We know where the Lost City is, yes, for we would never forget the birthplace of our people. It has been reclaimed by the sands, though if what the |
MatriarchGrantArea_g2_5 NPCTextAudio | Though events demand you tread upon a valley of the dead, do not do so flagrantly. Keep your presence light, cleanse what Corruption you can, and we shall skirmish with the Faridun to protect your flank. |
MatriarchGrantArea_g2_6 NPCTextAudio | We will take you to the Valley of the Titans, though expect no aid in infiltrating that accursed lowland. The Maraketh do not step foot there. Instead, we shall guard the entrance, delaying the Faridun should they seek to stop you. |
MatriarchGrantArea_g2_8 NPCTextAudio | We have never made the journey to our Towers without bearing a fallen |
RisuIdentitySorceress NPCTextAudio | I am of the Faridun. You know us, tale-woman. We are your unwanted and forgotten. Some time ago, a foreign woman came to us, and offered us the power to seize what was ours. We took her deal. We had no idea what it would cost us. |
RisuIdentity NPCTextAudio | I am of the Faridun. We are the shadows of the Maraketh, the unwanted and the forgotten. Some time ago, a foreign woman came to us, and offered us the power to take back what was ours. We took her deal. We had no idea what it would cost us. |
DefectorOnTheArdura NPCTextAudio | Meeting the Ardura is disconcerting. Like most Faridun, I was left to die in the desert as an infant. Perhaps someone here is my mother or father... |
MysticOnNasima NPCTextAudio | Nasima, yes, Nasima! A great warrior, though with a complicated legacy. Born with eyes the color of blood, she was left to die among the dunes for being blind, but the Faridun found her and raised her. |
MatriarchGatesShoutThree NPCTextAudio | The Faridun have never organized in such numbers before. They fight as if they no longer fear death. |
FaridunKingG2_3FightOpeningLine NPCTextAudio | Noxious Sekhema... |
FaridunKingG2_3FightOpeningLineNoAsala NPCTextAudio | Doing a Sekhema's dirty work, foreigner? |
FaridunKingG2_3FightEscapeLine NPCTextAudio | We will finish this, but not today. |
FaridunKingG2_3FightEscapeLineNoAsala NPCTextAudio | Leave our culture be, meddler! |
DefectorOnShambrinAfterHelping NPCTextAudio | Now that she is willing to talk to me, I find that Shambrin is very kind. I think she understands what it is to be an outsider. If she had been born blind, she would have been a sister-outcast among the Faridun. Being blinded as a warrior, however, guarantees her place among her people. |
DefectorOnTheFaridun NPCTextAudio | The Maraketh have no idea how great we number. We are larger than any one akhara by far, and my brothers and sisters held a great bitterness even before Corruption came among us. |
DefectorOnCorruption NPCTextAudio | This Corruption that plagues the land. I cannot bring myself to fully believe it is the reason for my people's sickening turn. I know that when the Beast first came to us—when Jamanra was raised from death—he quickly became covetous and prone to fits of rage. |
DefectorOnTheDreadnought NPCTextAudio | We Faridun have never had grand caravans. In our preparations, Jamanra tasked our people with building one of our own. The intent shifted as madness crept upon him. |
DefectorOnTheCountess NPCTextAudio | This... Oriana... the one you called a 'Countess'... Jamanra has declared her our Queen. She first came to us from the south, and seemed sympathetic to our cause. She promised us power... the power to take back our lives. |
MysticOnRisuWhileHelping NPCTextAudio | Each young one is much like another. Faridun, Maraketh, what does it matter to an old woman? Others may scowl for letting Risu sit and listen to my stories, but none may order me silent. |
MatriarchOnRisuAsalaDivine NPCTextAudio | She is a devoted follower, and there is no difference now between Maraketh and Faridun. Both serve me, under my united banner. The glory days of our people are nigh, |
ForsakenSonHarshLife NPCTextAudio | I did die, after thirty years living among the Faridun. It was a harsh life filled with pain, and I hated you every moment of it. |
MarakethMatriarchOnOneChoiceDone NPCTextAudio | We have spent our time wisely. The journey so far has cost us several weeks, but our most distant outriders have managed to distract the Faridun with targeted raids. We should be able to reach at least one more destination before they do. |
MarakethMatriarchOnTwoChoicesDone NPCTextAudio | Our skirmishes against the Faridun's outriders have gone well, but their so-called King has made moves of his own while we have protected your flank. You may very well find that he has ridden ahead of us, but we must still try. |
MarakethMatriarchOnThreeChoicesDone NPCTextAudio | As the tale-women spread word of our victories with my name lauded, I find myself growing stronger. This must be the beginnings of Divinity. I will use this strength to defeat the King of the Faridun. Perhaps it will even be enough to destroy the Seed of Corruption. |
MarakethMatriarchAscentQuestStart NPCTextAudio | You have done as well as can be expected on your own, The Faridun have assembled a tremendous Dreadnought far larger than any one caravan. As we speak, it is barreling through the heart of the Vastiri, leaving devastation in its wake. The Faridun seem to have some unknown destination in mind, but we intend to converge our |
MarakethMatriarchAscentQuestBoard NPCTextAudio | The time has come for a final confrontation. The Faridun have united, but for the first time in many generations, the Maraketh have as well. I intend to infiltrate the Dreadnought and face the Perennial King myself. If I defeat him in personal combat, I can end this war. The Faridun and the Maraketh alike will witness my victory. That will be my chance to unify them under one banner. I can feel myself on the verge of some great transformation... and so, too, will my people transform, should we win the day. Glory will be ours again, The future beckons. Are you prepared? |
MarakethMatriarchVsKingShoutTen NPCTextAudio | I am your new Sekhema of Sekhemas. I am your Goddess. With the power you have given me, I grant amnesty to the Faridun, should they surrender and agree to follow me. We are now... one people. |
MarakethMatriarchCorruptedPursuitsQuestStart NPCTextAudio | That foreigner escaped with the Seed of Corruption, but my outriders have found their trail. It leads away from the path that I must follow for now. There are some among the Faridun and the Maraketh who refuse my rule. I must unite the Vastiri Plains under a single leader if we are to restore this land to its former glory. I assume you will choose to part from us here and pursue the Seed. I understand that choice. I will send reinforcements to help you when the unification is over. Until then, I wish you luck in the Wastes to which the enemy has escaped. |
FaridunKingG2_11_2FightShoutOne NPCTextAudio | You offer yourself as a gift for the Seed, how generous! |
FaridunKingG2_11_2FightShoutTwo NPCTextAudio | I do not think so, mortal. |
FaridunKingG2_11_2FightShoutThree NPCTextAudio | The Seed feasts upon your divine folly. |

FaridunKingG2_3_PhaseChange NPCTextAudio | I tried to seek peace, and the Sekhemas disgraced me! Left my corpse to rot in the sand! This time, we choose war. |

MysticConversationWithRisuThree NPCTextAudio | Do the Faridun have any tales? |
AsalaWildGatesFiveRandom NPCTextAudio | Die forgotten, Faridun scum! |
AsalaWildGatesFive3 NPCTextAudio | The Faridun can produce worthy champions after all... |
AsalaWildGatesSix NPCTextAudio | The Faridun have fallen to corruption. Their eyes gleam with madness! |
CountessA2PraiseKing1 NPCTextAudio | Show them the might of the Faridun, my King! |
AsalaA2MapUIAncientGatesTwo NPCTextAudio | The Halani Gates are closed for the first time in one thousand years! This can only be related to the Beast. We should investigate the Faridun camp and demand answers. |
AsalaA2MapUIAncientGatesThree NPCTextAudio | The Halani Gates are closed, and the Faridun hold them in defense of the Beast. We will have to find another way. |
AsalaA2MapUIAncientGatesFour NPCTextAudio | The Halani Gates are closed, and the Faridun hold them in defense of the Beast. We will have to use this... traitors passage instead. |
AsalaA2MapUIAncientGatesFive NPCTextAudio | We have reclaimed the Halani Gates from the Faridun, but Jamanra's foul sorcery holds us at bay with a sandstorm. Speak to Zarka. She may know of some way forward. |
AsalaA2MapUIAncientGatesSix NPCTextAudio | We have reclaimed the Ancient Gates from the Faridun, but Jamanra's foul sorcery holds us at bay with a sandstorm. Only a reforged Horn of Vastiri can open a way through. |
AsalaA2MapUITheQuarry NPCTextAudio | Outcasts currently make their home in the forgotten Quarry in the hills of Mawdun. They call themselves the Faridun. We should travel there and find out what it is they are doing. |
AsalaA2MapUIBurialSpires NPCTextAudio | Enter Deshar, and take our vengeance upon the Faridun within! We will flank them while you ascend and undertake your duty. |
AsalaA2ResponseAboutBurialSpires NPCTextAudio | So, the outcasts have a new leader that calls himself a 'King'—ha!—and he seeks to violate Deshar, to feed our honoured dead to the Beast. Such a transgression... those {vile dogs!} |

AsalaA2FinalBattleTime NPCTextAudio | The Faridun have assembled a tremendous Dreadnought, a war caravan larger than we have ever seen. |
AsalaA2SpeechTwo NPCTextAudio | Let it echo across the Vastiri! I, Asala, Sekhema of the Ardura, vow to unite the Akharas! The Faridun will be granted clemency, should they seek it. Every woman, man and child not fallen to Corruption will be welcomed as one... {of our own!} |

AsalaA2AboutCuttingOffKingsHead NPCTextAudio | The war is over. I have given him an honourable death. This may prove to heal the wound between the Faridun and the Maraketh. |
AsalaA2EndOfActGossip NPCTextAudio | Jamanra is back where he belongs. I have given him a proper death. By removing his head, I acknowledged him. Though, he was never a King, despite what the Faridun think. |
HoodedOneA2OurNextMoveAfterAncientGates NPCTextAudio | The Countess has used Corruption to resurrect Jamanra, and they have escaped with the Beast... thankfully, we have some idea what the Faridun intend. |
HoodedOneA2OnTheFaridun NPCTextAudio | They call themselves the Faridun in this era, but they have died out and been reborn many times. They are not an independent culture. They are the Maraketh's dark secret, the inevitable consequence of life's haphazard nature. |
HoodedOneA2OurNextMoveAfterBlowingHorn NPCTextAudio | The path to Deshar has been opened. Infiltrate the towers, and stop the Faridun from feeding the Beast! |
HoodedOneA2OurNextMoveAfterSpires NPCTextAudio | We are out of time. The Beast may already be too dangerous to contain through mortal means. The time for all-out war has arrived. |
RisuA2TraitorsPassageHover NPCTextAudio | The Maraketh forgot the location of the Traitor's Passage long ago, but we Faridun kept the knowledge of it for many generations, in the hopes one day we could use it against them... |
ZarkaA2OnJamanra NPCTextAudio | Jamanra? That's a tale I rarely tell. Every few generations, the Faridun stir up trouble. Jamanra was their most successful attempt at causing problems. A very long time ago, he spread dangerous ideas among the outcasts, and spoke to the Maraketh as if they were equals. |
ShambrinA2OnTheFaridun NPCTextAudio | Publicly, I will decry them as loudly as anyone else. Privately, I understand. I do not condone their actions, but I have suffered some small portion of what they must feel their entire lives. |
ShambrinA2OnJamanraRisen NPCTextAudio | Jamanra has risen... It is... Almost unthinkable. To resort to necromancy and corruption... The Faridun's desperation knows no limits. In a way, it is rather sad. In another, it is harrowing. Either way, this King of theirs, must return to his death. |
ShambrinA2OnJamanraKilledSorc NPCTextAudio | The risen {King} is dead once again. Another tale of the harsh desert. This time, his death was honourable. Asala did this intentionally and I admire her for it. |
ShambrinA2OnJamanraKilled NPCTextAudio | The risen {King} is dead once again. His tale is yet another tragic outcome of the harsh desert. At least this time, the death was honourable. Asala did this intentionally and I admire her for it. |
ShambrinA2OnAsalaSpeech NPCTextAudio | With that speech, she has woven a hopeful tapestry for our future. Our Sekhema leaves nothing to chance. By beheading Jamanra, she has both dealt a deadly strike and begun the process of healing an old wound. |

JamanraGlyph_BookOfJamanra NPCTextAudio | Our people have lived in the shadows of the dunes for too long. Countless generations have been forgotten, will be forgotten. We are not 'Faridun,' we are Maraketh, and if we work together — if we unite — then they will be forced to acknowledge us. We must show them that casting us off is a mistake. We must show them our strength. Perhaps we can one day rebuild Keth itself, for all those who live in the Plains of Vastiri. |
